Todd Scott Laughlin, 48, of Bloomfield, was arrested early Sunday, October 7, by Deputy Marshal Wayman JR Blazier of the Bloomfield Police Department after Blazier responded to a call about a domestic battery.

According to a probable cause affidavit prepared by Officer Blazier, a woman told him her boyfriend, Laughlin, had tried to force himself on her sexually against her wishes. She said this occurred while she was in bed with a small child sleeping beside her. She said she told him to stop several times before he pushed her off the bed. She also said she is afraid of Laughlin.

Officer Blazier reported he took photographs of threatening text messages allegedly sent a few hours before the incident by Laughlin to the woman.

Laughlin was booked in to the Greene County Jail where his bond was set at $4,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. He was released after posting $400 cash then scheduled to appear in court for his initial hearing on October 25.
