Bloomfield man charged with OVWI
/A Bloomfield driver who was stopped last month for a seat belt violation showed numerous signs of intoxication and was arrested. When he appeared in court this month, he was charged with OVWI.
Michael Eugene Goodman, 70, Bloomfield, was arrested by Sgt. Jordan Allor of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Thursday, May 20.
When Goodman appeared in Greene Superior Court this month, he was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor.
Goodman was the driver of a brown 1989 Ford Ranger stopped for a seat belt violation around 4:30 p.m. in the area of State Road 54 and Judge Street in Bloomfield.
Sgt. Allor reported Goodman showed numerous signs of intoxication and failed field sobriety testing. A portable breathalyzer returned a result of .209 on the scene.
Goodman agreed to a blood draw that was obtained at Greene County General Hospital – results pending.
Goodman was booked into the Greene County Jail at 7:13 p.m. with bond sent at $4,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. He has since posted bond and been released from custody.
