Learning how to bounce back from a disappointing game is something Bloomfield Coach Siera Babcock will be sharing with her team in the coming days.

The Lady Cardinals traveled to Loogootee on Friday night and lost a nonconference game, 68-16.

The Lady Lions came out hot offensively and built leads of 21-6 at the end of the first quarter and 41-9 by halftime.

“Nobody likes losing, especially by that margin,” Babcock said. “But one game doesn't define our season or who we are as a team. What matters now is how we respond.”

Senior Alaina Diamond and freshman Lydia Hawkins dominated in the first half for Loogootee. Diamond had 14 points and Hawkins 12. For the game, Diamond finished with 20 points and Hawkins had 18.

“Give credit to them. They’re a very good basketball team, and they exposed some areas where we need to improve,” Babcock explained.

“We’ll learn from it and get back to work.”

Freshman Ellie Figg led Bloomfield in scoring with 12 points, and Aaliyah O’Connor and Madi Patton both score two.

Bloomfield (0-2) is back in action Tuesday, Nov. 10 when it travels to Sullivan.
