The suspect in the armed robbery is behind bars. Robert Alan Dale, 57, Hymera, was arrested by Det. Sgt. Shawn Cullison of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department last night and was booked into the Greene County Jail around 12:30 this morning, February 6.

GCSD Det. Sgt. Shawn Cullison, the lead investigator in this case, said in a press release issued this morning, he would like to thank the public for all the tips that helped lead to the arrest.

This investigation involved law enforcement officers from Greene County Sheriff’s Department, Linton Police Department, Jasonville Police Department and the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department.

The search for the suspect began after an armed man brandishing a firearm demanded money after entering the Country Porch just east of Linton on State Road 54 around 7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 4. When information about the robbery was first released, Det. Sgt. Cullison said the suspect left the store with an unknown amount of cash.

The Linton Police Department posted an appeal for help from the public to identify the suspect on their Facebook page late Tuesday night. On Wednesday morning, Det. Cullison issued another appeal from GCSD which was posted on the GreeneStreets website and Facebook page.

The suspect left the store in a silver Chevrolet Equinox and headed west from Linton and officers provided photos of the vehicle entering and leaving the property along with two photos of the suspect, all taken from the store’s video surveillance system.

Apparently the tips did roll in and officers were able to break the case – a suspect was taken into custody last night, Wednesday, February 5, around 10:50 p.m. then transported and booked into jail.

According to this morning’s jail log, Dale resides at 616 East Lincoln in Hymera and he’s facing preliminary charges of:
