Armed Dugger man arrested last Friday for vehicle theft in Dugger area
Sullivan County, Ind. - On November 25, 2022 at approximately 3 PM, Sullivan County deputies responded to the Dugger area in regards to an unwanted guest, reportedly armed with a firearm.
As deputies arrived they observed a male inside a vehicle parked in front of the residence.
The male was later identified as Brant Boyd, of Dugger.
Further investigation revealed that Boyd had been a suspect involving a stolen vehicle, earlier in the day.
As deputies attempted to place Boyd into custody, he attempted to flee, but was quickly apprehended.
Boyd was uncooperative with officers concerning the whereabouts of the handgun.
Deputy Justin Copeland obtained a search warrant for Boyd’s vehicle, in which a handgun was later found.
Boyd was charged with Felon in possession of a firearm a level 5 Felony, Vehicle Theft a Level 6 felony and Resisting law enforcement a Class A Misdemeanor.
Other agencies assisting were Indiana Conservation Officers and the Dugger Town Marshal’s Office.
