When an Arizona driver got his vehicle stuck in the grass in the median of I69 last Thursday, it attracted the attention of ISP and the driver ended up in the Greene County Jail for OVWI.

Jason Brandon White, 42, Glendale, Arizona, was arrested by Indiana State Police Trooper Ben Burris late last Thursday, February 24.

At 10:42 p.m. last Thursday, another trooper reported a vehicle was in the median of I69. Trooper Burris was not far away and responded to the 98 mile marker where he found the vehicle stuck in the grass in the median.

Jason White was identified as the driver of a gray 2010 Chrysler Town and Country with an Indiana dealer plate. The odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from White was detected along with other signs of intoxication and he was transported to the Greene County Sheriff’s Department.

Once at GCSD, White failed standard field sobriety testing but submitted to a certified chemical test. Results showed he had an alcohol concentration equivalent to .119. The legal limit is .08.

White was booked into the Greene County Jail at 11:50 p.m. on a surety-only bond.

White is scheduled to appear in Greene Superior Court on March 1 for his initial hearing on a charge of operating a vehicle with an alcohol concentration equivalent to at least .08 but less than .15, a Class C misdemeanor.
