13th Annual Mom Prom: Dance, Dine, and Make a Difference

The Greene County SART (Sexual Assault Response Team) is excited to announce that Mom Prom is back for its 13th year, raising funds to support the ongoing training of Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners.

This year’s Mom Prom will take place on Saturday, September 7, from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at Heshey Hall in the Greene County Event Center located at the Greene County Fairgrounds.

Mom Prom is a lively and lavish 21+ ladies’ night out, giving you the perfect excuse to dust off that “you’ll-only-wear-this-once” prom or bridesmaid’s dress and dance the night away with friends. Attendees can pose for prom photos, bid on silent auction items, eat a delicious catered meal, and crown the Mom Prom Queen all while supporting a worthy cause.

But Mom Prom is more than just a night out—it’s an opportunity to learn, raise awareness, and show support for survivors of sexual assault in the community.

This year’s special guest, Heather Maravilla from the Indiana Trafficking Victim Assistance Program, will share a powerful survivor’s story, building on the moving testimony she presented last year. The event is not only about enjoying a night with friends but also about educating ourselves on the impact of sexual assault and human trafficking, especially within small communities like ours. It serves as a reminder that survivors are seen, heard, and supported.

Proceeds from the event will go toward the training of Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE), including the purchase of expensive equipment needed to perform forensic sexual assault exams. Funds also support equipment, supplies, and counseling for sexual assault victims, as well as activities to raise public awareness for victims of sexual assault in our community.

Tickets are being sold exclusively at eventbrite.com until September 1, and include admission, a corsage, a meal, and a free t-shirt (don’t forget to mark your size). Tickets will NOT be sold at the door, but remember to bring cash for the cash bar, where beer and wine will be available for purchase.

If you have any questions or would like to donate an item to the silent auction, please reach out to Vickie at 812-384-4998 or 812-381-0084, or Christa at 812-384-8769 or 812-699-5160.
