New entries on the morning Jail Log at the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Friday, June 25, 2021:

June 24, 10:57 a.m. – Carlos Daniel Cortez Hernandez, 22, Bloomington, Ind., was arrested on new preliminary charges of felony resisting law enforcement using a vehicle and misdemeanor reckless driving. His bond was set at $4,500 surety with ten percent cash allowed. He posted $450 and was released later the same day. Indiana State Police Trooper Kent Winstead was the arresting officer.

June 24, 11:23 a.m. – Jamie Lee Curry, 40, Bloomington, Ind., was arrested on a warrant issued for failure to appear at a change of plea hearing in a case involving felony theft. His bond was set at $5,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed.

June 24, 1:10 p.m. – Damon Michael Johnson, 20, Bloomington, Ind., was arrested on a warrant issued on a petition to revoke a suspended sentence for a conviction of felony possession of methamphetamine. He was being held without bond. Indiana State Police Trooper Jeremy Cox was the arresting officer.

June 24, 7:26 p.m. – Benjamin Lewis Edwards, 44, Bloomfield, Ind., was arrested on a new preliminary charge of felony operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a prior conviction. His bond was set at $8,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy William C. Walker was the arresting officer.

June 24, 11:36 p.m. – Steven Stoddard Engel, 40, New Castle, Ind., was arrested on a new preliminary charge of misdemeanor public intoxication and on a warrant issued for failure to appear in a felony case. His bond was set at $500 surety with ten percent cash allowed on the intoxication charge but he was being held without bond on the warrant. Linton Police Officer Alan Jackson was the arresting officer.
